EcoTEMP UniVERSAL™ satellite antenna de-icing systems use the latest generation of its own revolutionary Radiant Thermal Sheet™ (RTS) technology. Antennas have operated with RTS without failure for 15 years in some of the world’s most challenging climates.
RTS is a remarkable technology, equally appropriate for antennas from .5 to 11 meters or more. It is available at a very competitive purchase price, is simple to install and with its low power draw is inexpensive to operate.
THREE LAYER APPROACH
EcoTEMP UniVERSAL de-icing systems are designed for long lasting and reliable field performance. The heating system consists of three layers: self-adhering RTS heaters are applied to the back surface of an antenna and protected from the environment by an insulation blanket and a flexible plastic cover. To simplify the installation process, EcoTEMP can provide all components of the system in a kit form for ease of field or factory installation.
RTS heaters provide uniformly-distributed radiant heat across the required surface of the antenna. For optimum performance, EcoTEMP recommends that the coverage area not be less than 60% of the antenna’s surface area.
Systems can be programmed to turn on when precipitation and ambient temperatures reach pre-set thresholds.
All EcoTEMP UniVERSAL antenna de-icing systems are equipped with advanced precipitation and temperature control devices which are CSA, CE, UL and RoHS compliant and provide reliable, assured operation. Remote monitoring technology is also available.
RTS technology brings a high level of reliability and performance to satellite de-icing. If any part of the thermal sheet heater is cut or punctured, it will self-cauterize to maintain operation.
LOW POWER REQUIREMENTS
Only 30 to 40 watts per square foot can deliver the radiant heat needed to prevent ice or snow accumulating on an antenna.
